Healthy Banana pancakes for baby – Sweetened with Date Powder

30. April 2025

Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite easy recipes: mini banana pancakes for baby sweetened with date powder. These little pancakes are soft, naturally sweet, and perfect for curious baby hands starting from 8 months old.

This recipe is quick, simple, and full of nourishing ingredients — perfect for breakfast or snack time. It’s the kind of cozy recipe you can throw together even with sleepy eyes in the morning… and it always brings a smile!

🌱 Why Use Yogurt Instead of Milk?

I like to use plain yogurt instead of milk for a few reasons:

  • It makes the batter extra creamy and the pancakes even softer
  • Yogurt is often better tolerated than milk in toddlers — it’s easier to digest and lower in lactose
  • And let’s be honest, there’s always some yogurt in the fridge, right? 😉

🍯 Why I Love Using Date Powder (No Refined Sugar!)

HEALTHY BANANA PANCAKE FOR BABY

To naturally sweeten these pancakes, I skip refined sugar and use date powder — a 100% natural alternative that’s rich in fiber and minerals.
It adds a mild, naturally sweet taste that’s perfect for babies without overwhelming their palate.

Also, banana and date powder make a delicious combo — subtly fragrant and just sweet enough!

🥞 Ingredients (makes 4–6 mini pancakes)

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tsp plain yogurt
  • 3 tsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp melted butter (or a mild oil like canola or sunflower)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 3 tsp date powder (or more, to taste)

🍌 How to Make a Pancake with a Banana

Making pancakes with banana is super simple — mash a ripe banana, mix with an egg, a bit of yogurt, flour, baking powder, and some date powder for sweetness. You can use a little melted butter, or simply replace it with a mild oil like canola or sunflower.

Just cook the batter in small rounds on a non-stick pan until golden on both sides. That’s it!
